The Irish Organic Association (IOA) secures funding for a European Innovation Partnership (EIP) project
In 2017 there was an open call for applications from qualified parties in Ireland for the European Innovation Partnership (EIP), which is a funding stream run under the Rural Development Programme. It addresses problems faced by farmers and seeks to deal with these problems in a practical manner. A detailed feasibility study was designed and submitted under this very competitive process by Gillian Westbrook, IOA CEO. It was one of 12 successful projects granted funding in round one. The project is called Maximising Organic Production Systems, (MOPS) and will work collectively with 11 growers around the country to devise a comprehensive cropping plan in line with growing market demands. The MOPS project will start officially on June 1st
