Board of Directors IOFGA's Board of Directors is elected at the annual
general meeting. Directors voluntarily give thier time and skills to govern the
association. Current board members include:
- Kate Carmody - Chairperson
- Lucie Kennedy - John Hoey
- Joe Condon
- Kieran Hickland
- John Healy. Certification Panel The Certification
Panel independently reviews inspection reports from IOFGA's team of inspectors
who visit farms, food processing facilities, and retail premises. The panel determines
the organic status of land and food certified by IOFGA. Panel members are appointed
by the Board of Directors. Standards Committee The standards
committee reviews IOFGA's standards for organic food production and processing
in co-operation with other certification bodies in Ireland and Britain and with
the Department for Agriculture and Food's organic
unit. Members of the Standards Committee are appointed by the Board of Directors
for their expertise and experience. Other committees IOFGA
sends appointees to several government sponsored committees and forums including:
